Sustainability is an omnipresent topic that not only affects us as private individuals, but to which companies in particular must contribute.
To take another step in the right direction, we have decided to grow trees together with a trusted partner as part of Krones' new "Solutions beyond tomorrow" target.
Thanks to our collaboration with Treedom, we are bringing positive change to the environment and the people who live in it.
We are growing trees in 5 countries around the world (Tanzania, Colombia, Cameroon, Kenya and Madagascar), where they will help absorb CO2 and bear valuable fruit for the livelihood of local communities.
Our trees will absorb approximately 36.03 tons of CO2 over the next 10 years.
Every single tree is photographed and geolocated at the moment it is planted in the ground, to ensure maximum transparency of our commitment to the planet.
Our Krones.shop forest already consists of more than 350 trees. These include tree spinach, coffee and cocoa trees. 300 more will be planted at the end of the year.
Since Treedom’s foundation in 2010, more than 3 million trees have been planted across Africa, South-East Asia and South America.
All trees are planted directly by local farmers, bringing environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities. In 2014, Treedom became a certified B Corporation, part of the global network of companies that stand out for high environmental and social performance.
Treedom's work contributes to 10 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This is why they have chosen to plant mainly in Africa, Latin America and Asia. In these areas they can plant more trees (for the benefit of the entire planet) and generate a greater social impact.
